Percepción de efectividad del Programa Nacional de Prevención del Delito (PRONAPRED) en Acapulco, Guerrero.

Abstract

In Mexico and particularly in the city of Acapulco, public policy actions to prevent crime have not had an effective impact on reducing insecurity, despite considerable human and economic resources being invested. The objective of this work is to describe the perception of effectiveness of the inhabitants of the Progreso polygon on a public policy with federal subsidy: the National Crime Prevention Program (PRONAPRED). The methodology that has been followed has been the evacuation of a survey to know the opinion of the people about the program , its citizen security needs, risk factors and victimization. It is argued that the perception is that the program itself has been effective in disminuence insecurity and the colony. The main findings are the lack of knowledge that the inhabitants have regarding the program, a high perception of effectiveness and wide coverage of citizen security needs, lower risk factors and victimization in the polygon intervened by PRONAPRED.
