Abstract

In the coastal zone there are ecosystem services as a result of the diversity of processes that interact with each other, allowing the development of aquatic and terrestrial species, as well as elementary functions to accommodate different forms of life and human settlements. However, the daily practices of coastal communities have significantly impacted the environmental quality of natural resources, the poor management of waste, the dumping of residual discharges, the irrational logging of the forest of Mangrove, fishing over-exploitation, lack of awareness and culture towards the sustainable use of these, which has caused harmful effects to the lagoon ecosystem. Various economic activities in the región, such as fishing, agricultura and livestock, have also influenced these negative impacts, coupled with the lack of management plan and the lack of environmental culture in the population.
