Infections associated with vascular catheters increase morbidity and mortality, complications, mainly bacteremia, WHO reports that 28,000 deaths are derived each year as a consequence (World Health Organization, 2009). Therefore, it
is essential to use intravascular catheters for different purposes, especially in Intensive Care Units (ICU), which allow vascular access for patient treatment, although it carries the risk for the development of infectious and noninfectious complications, local and systemic. Objective: To determine the quality of the nursing intervention in neonates
in the management of the peripheral insertion central catheter of the Hospital de la Madre y el Niño Guerrerense.
