Abstract
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is an important public health problem since its complications are one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality, especially in patients under dialysis treatment presenting an infectious process which increases as the disease progresses and deteriorates the defensive mechanisms against infection. Early detection of urinary tract infection, identification of the main factors that compromise the normal evacuation of urine and the integrity of the urinary tract or the manipulation of the urinary tract, as well as comorbidities that present greater susceptibility to the appearance of urinary tract infections.
