Propuesta de producción sustentable en sistemas agrícolas campesinos de Cuanacaxtitlán, Guerrero.

Abstract

This study was carried out in Cuanacaxtitlán, Guerrero, the objective was to propose and manage sustainable production in peasant agricultural systems of the locality. A semi-structured questionnaire was applied to 23 small scale maize farmers. The data obtained were analyzed by comparing the sustainability of the crop management systems through the "Framework for the Evaluation of Natural Resources Management Systems incorporating Sustainability Indicators" (MESMIS). The results of this analysis, along with horizontal workshops with farmers, were the basis for the design of an action plan with an agroecological approach, which can positively affect critical points found in the 23 maize production systems. To give continuity to this action plan, a monitoring committee was formed that will make visits to the farmers' plots, and will support any doubts that may arise regarding the actions proposed. During the project, the importance of the organization for the advancement in sustainable production, expansion of agroecological practices as well as the conservation and dissemination of local seeds was discussed.
