We expose the design elements and staging of a Learning Situation for teaching of the derivative to beginner¿s students university of the Autonomous University of Guerrero, Mexico. This work is motivated by the detection of a specific problem in a course of differential calculus: a significant number of students barely understand this concept. For this reason, we decided to help them improve their understanding of derivative concept. To develop the Learning Situation are taken as guidelines axis: the variation and the transition between representation registers.
