Abstract

The problem of surgery safety is widely recognized worldwide. Studies carried out in developed countries confirm the magnitude and omnipresence of the problem, so much so that it has become a public health problem, the World Health Organization (WHO), defined a series of objectives for the acting surgical anesthetic team, establishing the safe surgery checklist as an effective, simple, practical and applicable method to any surgical procedure to improve safety in surgical patients, incorporating the evaluation of key elements as minimum required. Objective: To evaluate compliance with the safe surgery protocol before and after an educational intervention in the operating room of the General Hospital of San Marcos, Guerrero. 2019.
