Objectives: To identify environmental risks to reduce the transmission of dengue in the region of Costa Grande, Guerrero, Mexico. Material and Methods: In May 2010 a cross-sectional study was carried out on 30 representative and randomly selected clusters. Previous informed consent was made an entomological review in each home. A survey was applied to key informants to obtain conglomerate's conditions data related. From climatological stations of National Water Comission of Guerrero State were obtanined of the temperature reports. Humidity and climatic variables were acquired from digital database Map, INEGI. Google Earth software was used to obtain altitude in meters above sea level. Statistical analysis was performed using the CIETmap program. Results: 13.3% (530/3987) of the households were positive to larvae and / or pupae of Aedes aegypti. Soil moisture were the environmental factor associated with positive houses to larvae and pupae (ORa 2.05, IC95% acl 1.25 - 3.37), and, do not use abate in the pile in the house for two months (ORa 2.47; IC95% acl 1.25 - 3.37)
