The objective of this study is analyze the results of the participation and legislative management of women in the local congresses of the state of Oaxaca (2016-2018) and Guerrero (2015-2018), from the implementation of the Law General of Electoral Institutions and Procedures (LEG IPE), approved in 2014, which formalized the principle of gender parity in the candidacies for positions of political representation. The analysis was developed through the review of: 1) differentiated profiles of deputies (age, educational level and political experience); 2) the distribution of power; and 3) the legislative agenda differentiated between genders, based on documentary review and direct sources to members of the LXI Legislature of Guerrero and the LXIII Legislature of Oaxaca. For both states, the LEG IPE represented an advance in the political representation of women, however, substantive equality between deputies in the legislative exercise is a pending task.
