Introduction: torus could function as an alternative source of autogenous bone, with few complications associated with graft harvesting. Predictable results have been demonstrated in pre-prosthetic surgery, regeneration, and implant placement, using torus as a source of graft. Objective: to describe the procedure for using the mandibular torus as a source of autologous bone graft for the placement of two implants. Clinical case: a 69 years old male patient with partial edentulism in both arches with severe periodontal disease in search of complete rehabilitation. Treatment: extractions of the remaining dental organs in the lower jaw will be carried out and two implants will be placed in the extraction sites, lower premolars. Grafts will be taken from the lingual tori to be placed in the extraction sites for the purpose of alveolar preservation for the placement of an implant-supported overdenture, while a removable prosthesis will be placed in the upper arch. Results: patient¿s mouth was rehabilitated with an implant-retained overdenture in the lower arch, with good stability due to the proper functioning of the torus tissue to preserve the post-extraction alveoli. Conclusions: palatal and mandibular tori and exostoses should be considered an alternative donor site to obtain autologous bone in order to apply them in different conditions in which intraoral grafts are required.
