Programa de manejo para la conservación de los Agaves angustifolia y cupreata en el estado de Guerrero.
Abstract
The Agave also called "maguey" is considered a genus that has its center of origin in Mexico. This plant has economic, agronomic, biological and sociocultural potential. The present study was carried out with the purpose of preparing a management proposal to conserve Agave angustifolia and Agave cupreata in the municipalities: Huitzuco de los Figueroa, Atenango del Río, Ahuacuotzingo and Chilapa de Álvarez, in the state of Guerrero. The research consisted of four phases: phenotypic, bromatological, physicochemical and soil nutrient-related, and the perception and traditional knowledge regarding the use and management of the maguey was evaluated among the small farmers and mezcal producers.
