dc.description.abstractIn Mexico, the agave is a species of ecological, sociocultural and economic importance, especially for the state of Guerrero, where the agave is used for the elaboration of mezcal, placing it in the second national producer of this drink. However, the overexploitation of wild and established plantations is causing the decline of agave populations in this state.
