For teachers, one of the goals is to teach for the understanding of concepts, however, his teaching practice is not enough to carry out activities that promote it, and consequently strategies should be proposed to the teacher that will allow him to develop comprehension skills in the classroom. Particularly, it has been identified that an obstacle to understanding in mathematics is the weak reading that is made of the textbooks, therefore, we conducted a workshop whose objective was to provide primary and secondary school teachers (6-15 years old), the factors that should be considered for a reading that promotes an understanding of their math textbooks. In this paper, we report the results of the workshop that enrolled 31 teachers from Guerrero (4 to 33 years of teaching service).
