The objective of this study was to evaluate the in vitro fermentative characteristics of bacterial cellulolytic consortia obtained from different ruminant species. The bacterial cellulolytic consortia (BCC) were obtained from the bovine, ovine, goat and buffalo ruminal fluid by carrying out six transfers in a selective cellulose-based culture medium to obtain a CBC capable of degrading cellulose.
