The postoperative pain is the one that is present in the patient due to the disease, the surgical procedure and its complications or a combination of both, and is characterized fundamentally by being an acute pain, limited in time, predictable and avoidable. Its poor control negatively affects the quality of life, functional recovery and increases the risk of post-surgical complications, and is associated with an increase in morbidity and costs, increasing the risk of developing chronic persistent pain. The pain that the post-surgical patient experiences, in most cases requires more than pharmacological treatment but comfort and comfort, and an evaluation of constant and continuous care.
